Emma Raducanu ends her season and will keep coach into the 2026 season.

Emma Raducanu in action during a tennis match

Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions in 2025 as a result of a medical condition that has affected her over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover before starting next year's training.

Her upcoming training will include her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together in 2026.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the international top 30 for the first time in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points then was defeated by Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches this year and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way then falling in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

She mentioned that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
